to keep their clothes on in san francisco. the board of supervisors passed the ban there afternoon. we were there as an unusual protest unfolded at city hall. >> reporter: that's right. the ban on public nudity passed its second and final vote. that led to yet another naked protest inside city hall. >> colleagues asked that we temporarily recess this meeting. >> nudists protested as san francisco supervisors gave their final approval to a ban on public nudity. the nudists are anticipating a court battle to restore what they see as their first amendment rights. >> we will continue fighting this no matter what it takes until this legislation is dead. >> one supervisor says he created the ordinance after years of complaints primarily from gay men living in the castro district. >> it will still be legal to be nude on a beach, to be nude at folsom street fair, bay to breakers, pride. >> been a takes effect february 1. >> there are so many families and people who have told me they're really sorry they can't come to the neighborhood anymore because of this. >> for others public nudity is what

incase of the flooding but they closed it. >> to ktvu's lorraine blanco who is live in san francisco where the power has been out for most of the day in the sunset district. >> reporter: right now dozens of people are without power. pg&e crews hard at work trying to restore power. for crews across the bay area, the wild weather left quite a mess. >> reporter: heavy saturation toppled this pine tree today. blocking two lanes and blocking up computers in daily city. firefighters helping the chp. no one was hurt but it has been a while. >> our crews have been working all night. calls been very busy. 30 minutes sleep last night. very busy. >> reporter: in san francisco heavy winds and rain snapped this power pole before sun rise in the sunset district. >> when it happened there were tons of sparks and lightning. >> reporter: at one point 8400 customers lost power here. pg&e said they have been working all day to repair. >> the stuff in the freezer might be going. i missed the football game. not too bad. >> reporter: they agree. although the creek is high, it is fun to play in the puddle.

showers, in the city, san francisco getting wet along the coastline. for today we are breezy, cloudy conditions, soggy conditions, but we will start to see a bit of a break-in to the afternoon. advisories in place already in the third of storms coming our way. i will show you the timeline and bring you details coming up. >> it has been a wild week of weather. we are not done yet. want to give you a live look outside. interstate 80, rain water on the roadway. two hands onto wheel. we will see scattered showers throughout the bay area before the next powerful punch flows through. yesterday's heavy wind and rain cause power outages. >>> most of the bay area will be under a flash flood watch through the weekend, a break-in the weather has helped water levels drop on the street in the north bay. some areas did flood and we could see it happen again tomorrow. the river rose with in a few feet of topping its banks and in kernville the russian river rose 14 feet. >> there were 14 steps here. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, it's come up 7, 8, steps in five hours. >> the national weather service issued

now. 43 in fairfield currently. downtown san francisco 49 and san jose currently checking in around 50 degrees. here's a look at live storm tracker 2. not all is reaching the ground. but reports of rainfall at least a few sprinkles moving into parts of san francisco. san jose just some cloud cover. a few sprinkles, a few very light showers moving toward the bay bridge. and up in the north bay, santa rosa reporting some cloud cover but just up to the north, we do have light rain reported toward clover dale and the heelsburg area. in addition to the rainfall we're tracking some rainfall as well. those pink shades are snow being detected with the radar. snow levels coming down to 4800 to 4700 feet as we head into the evening hours. the one part of your weekend that is dry and we do have a high surf advisory to talk about. we'll let you know when that kicks into the area. >>> what does all the rain mean for our water supply. the update we got on reservoirs in the south bay. >>> a lot of snow has fallen this week in the sierra which translates into big business. mike leary is joins us after

the morning commute is looking good in san francisco off to a nice start approaching the downtown area. it's 5:00 let's go back to dave and pam. >>> at 5:00 we have breaking news coming in from campbell. firefighters just found a body as they rushed to an apartment house fire. janine de la vega is there. she's been there since 4:30 this morning. what is the very latest? >> reporter: the coroner is still here actually in the back of the apartment complex here on kiness drive. fire investigate evers are here on the scene trying to figure out how this fire started and who was the person who died here. at around 1:15 this morning residents at this apartment complex called 911 because they saw smoke coming from the carport at the complex. when they arrived firefighters discovered a storage unit under the carport was on fire. they distinguished it and opened up and found a body. police spoke to the owner of that storage unit and here's what the sergeant had to say. >> we have talked to the person who's belongings are in the storage unit. they are unaware of anything suspicious. they are unaware of a
